There is literally NOTHING I love more than photographing births. If I could do nothing BUT this for the rest of my life, I would die content.
Allowing ANYONE into that space with you as you fight to welcome a new soul into the world is a massive privilege. I hope and pray you will let me capture every moment for you.

The days immediatley after welcoming a child are unlike any other. Babies change so incredibly fast and, even with a Newborn session booked within the first 14 days, your baby will look like a completely different child.
Fresh48s are scheudled between 9am-2pm. The best time to schedule it is in those first 24 hours so that you are not discharged beforehand.

Let's document your new family in your home! This session should be held in the first 2 weeks home, so no session date is set until baby arrives! It is a great addition to a fresh48 or it can even be in place of a fresh48!

How late can I decide to book a fresh48?
You are welcome to message me to book your fresh48 at ANYTIME before baby's arrival. HOWEVER, the earlier you book, the better.
Waiting to make the decision to book means chancing that I cannot accomidate you needs.
How many photos should I expect to have?
The number of photos included in your gallery can range from 75-150. The more family members inlcuded in your Fresh48, the more photos you're likely to see.
Note that NO NUMBER OF IMAGES IS PROMISED.
How long should a Fresh48 take?
I have had Fresh48s take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hrs. How long it takes always depends on two things; who all is included in the session and how content the baby is.
Fussy babies happen and I am fully prepared to help sooth baby, wait for baby to be fed and changed, or let baby take a photo break to calm down.
PLEASE don't let your baby's behavior stress you, they're learning how to be in the world, we can be patient as they do!
What if we are transfered to NICU?
The fear and questions that arise with a transfer to NICU is ALL you'll need to worry about.
I am always flexble in making your Fresh48 still happen in the NICU, or changing your session to become a lifestyle newborn OR traditional family session.
I will check in with you each step of the way to make sure you have one less thing to worry about (me).

Frequently Asked Questions For booking a Birth
Dont let the million questions you have stop you from inquiring about booking a Birth Session. My goal is ALWAYS to create photos that you will cherish forever while being a calming and encouraging force through the biggest days of your life.
How early in my Pregnancy do I need to book?
The earlier you book, the better. This is simply because I am less likely to book events and sessions that cannot be rescheduled if there is an overlap with your delivery. However, I simply ask that I know 14 days before your due date-induction date.
How many photos should I expect to have?
The number of photos included in your gallery can range from 75-200. The longer your birth or the more family members inlcuded in your Fresh48 can change the number your recieve grately.

Do I have to have props?
Absolutely not! If you plan to include props in your Fresh48, please let me know, however nothing is required of you!
I always recommend that you have a robe/outfit ready for YOU, that you feel comfortable in, however that isn't required either!
I can provide outfits ad blankets for baby, if requested with enough time.
What if the hospital denies access?
There is alway a chance that the hospital can change policies on Photographers. If this occurs a full refund will be offered OR you can choose to transfer your contract and funds to other session options.
If access is denied on site, funds CANNOT be refunded, however they can be transfered to another session.
What if I miss the birth?
It is sadly, always a possibility. While I will get to you as soon as humanly possible, sometimes moms progress QUICKLY. If I miss your birth then you will still get your Fresh48. I will also provide you with a Family Session and $100 in print credit.
What if I end up with a C-section?
As sad and scary as the situation may be, it is a safe and, sometimes, the best option for you and baby.
If your birth turns into a surgery, my job will continue as expected. I will document whatever the hospital will allow.
How long will it take to get the photos from our birth?
My goal is always to deliver a COMPLETE gallery within 24 hour. However, once the gallery is started, you will have immediate access!
Will Gray Photography share intimate photos?
What photos are shared and HOW they are shared is determined 100% by YOU.
I do ask that you are flexible in letting me post and include photos in my portfolio as birth sessions are few and far inbetween, however I allow YOU to pick which photos I share and if they are posted on social media or only on my website.
Note: Birth galleries are never visible to the public. Only those with the link can see your gallery.
Do I have to have close up photos of the birth itself?
I've had moms request that I not take the detailed shots, however I would much rather have those photos for you to choose if you want to keep them or not rather than send a gallery without them and have you wishing I HAD taken them.
SO, Yes, you have to have it taken, but they are YOUR photos, choose if you want to keep them or not! Again, these photos will NEVER be shared without permission.
