Hello

I am

Emily Gray.

I have had the blessing of being behind the camera for ten years and running a business for six! I love the details of every session and want to capture genuine laughter from everyone I get to work with. I focus on couples and babies, which means I capture everything from Birth sessions to Weddings. From the moment you inquire about a booking to the moment you open your gallery or prints, I strive to answer every question, calm every nerve, and provide my all so that you have one less thing to worry about.

Ask me how I can help capture YOUR memories!

Family

We're pretty cool.

My husband and I grew up together.

Cue the "ews" and "Awes".

We are high school sweethearts that got married and started a family.

He likes to blame me for this gray hairs... but he started getting those before we started dating.

If I am to blame for anything... it is his beard.

His life has certainly been threatened if he were to shave it off.

Our daughter is just as full of attitude as her father and is a spitting image of myself. Luckily she has grown up with the camera focused on her and has yet to decide that she hates it. Because of this, my personal FB is filled with not much more than photos of this poor girl in the odd shenanigan's she gets into, like dressing herself or baking cookies like the Tasmanian devil.

Getting to Know me

(We'd be BFFs if you catch the Musical Reference there)

Beach Body

Not that I have one... but I AM one. lol

My family always found peace and rest with our toes in the sand.

There is something so tranquil about the white sand, swaying grass, and overpowering noise created by the repetitive and constant waves.

Adventure

My joy can be found in the mountains as well.

I honestly could be content anywhere, especially if I had my family and Time to rest.

I have hiked mountains, explored caves, canoed and kayaked enough river to circle Missouri (or maybe it just feels like it?).

I am always up for an adventure, are you?

Traditional?

Not quite

I love to try new things. Or do things in new ways! Not much gets done twice the same way as I am always learning and our world is always changing!

One of my favorite adventures, recently, was riding back seat on a Harley and photographing the other 100 riders as they paid tribute to a lost friend.

Expect to see me doing the weird and unexpected. lol

Animals? Yes please.

Animal Enthusiast

I grew up in a home with dogs. We pretty much always had two or three. I have grown up with friends and family with livestock and horses. I have always enjoyed the presence and comfort an animal can bring. There is just something about being able to pet or rub an animal and feel their warmth envelop you.

Weird Fact: I have always loved the shape of a cow... If I find out you have cattle... it is only a matter of time before I ask you if I can come over and take photos of them.

Creativity

As a photographer, I am a creative artist that works to find the right angle, light, and composition. It is not just about getting someone in front of the camera, but about making them feel comfortable there AND being prepared to capture it.

This is the challenge that occurs behind the camera and then there are the creative challenges that occur on the computer, in the editing process.

My favorite Sessions

While I cover a wide range of services, there are always certain ones that I hold close to my heart.

Babies

This last year I had the privilege of photographing my first birth! While our current health climate limits this to Birthing Centers, I am praying that I get to continue this love.

Fresh 48's and Families with Newborns make this mark too. There is simply nothing more heartwarming that the love that surrounds a new child.

Couples

The love and connection that happens between two people is a blessing to witness.

Whether the couple is young and fresh to love or coming up on their 50th anniversary, the eyes say it all. The hands that hold each other so securely speak so loud. And the smiles (even the awkward ones) are so precious.

It is all worth capturing.

Weddings

The beginning of a marriage is truly a beautiful challenge. As a wedding photographer, I am usually with the bride and groom for upwards of 9 hours, my feet throb, my stomach aches from the cake (YUM), and my eyes are sore from checking focus 8 million times in a day.

And yet I find myself smiling the whole way home and every last hour I edit.

I'm a sucker for a good black and white photo... and Details.

You've been warned.
